Logo Idents and Animated Logos

Logo idents have been a staple of televised branding for decades.

Logo Identities, or ‘Idents’ for short, are defined as “a short visual image employed between television programmes that works as a logo to locate the viewer to the channel”. So basically, a moving logo. This can be done via animation or through live footage and photography. The important thing is that it moves.

A great example is this compilation of some of Channel 4’s beautifully designed idents featured above.
